Production manager (Pharmaceutical) – wanted – Cape Town

Our client requires an experienced Vaccine Production Manager to ensure that the manufacturing of vaccines (API’s, Formulation, Filling and Packaging) are established at the defined volumes and quality level (TBI, MCC and WHO) and also by ensuring undisrupted, punctual and safe operation of staff and processes in GMP compliant production facilities.
Requirements: •
10 years post-graduate experience in vaccine / biotech industry or equivalent • Production management in cGMP environment • Experience in Vaccine API, Formulation & Filling and Packaging production as well • Informed in the applicable technologies • QA & regulatory compliance knowledge, i.e. MCC and WHO • Knowledge of business, planning and logistics processes • Pharmacy, life, or and natural science formal qualification desired • Sound technical ability and hands on approach: experience, knowledge and certification
Main Responsibilities:
Production: • Ensure the production of vaccines in time, and planned quantities according to the established specifications and criteria • Ensure the effective production material and utility usage • Development and implementation of SOP’s and maintenance of production procedures • Ensure maintenance of production facilities and equipment are in compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
Technologies: Make technological input to: • production processes, techniques and methods (equipment) • Facility requirements and quality requirements • Logistics processes & test methods, GMP, documentation, etc
Department Management: • Engage with, manage, mentor, coach and lead the staff • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the department • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws
